This week’s interviewee, Marc Burrows is an award-winning author, comedian and musician. His 2020 biography of Sir Terry Pratchett won the Locus Award for best non-fiction and became the basis for a stand-up show that received rave reviews at the Edinburgh Fringe and went on to tour the UK and Australia. He is also a freelance journalist and he plays bass in the cult Victoriana punk band The Men That Will Not Be Blamed For Nothing. His new live show The Britpop Hour about 90s British music culture is heading to the Edinburgh Fringe this August and will have London previews before and have a tour after. He’s quite a busy person, but he made time to chat to me and we covered A LOT including how Terry Pratchett shaped his writing style, AI musicians, his former job at Twitter, why Oasis are having a moment with the young people and of course the challenges and benefits of a creative work-life.
